Rocker Restorations **Update**

John and I stumbled upon a steal of a deal on a community sale site; 2 rocking chairs. They need tons of TLC, but we were up for the challenge! $30 for both rockers was worth a fabulous restore, and oh! has it more than paid for itself. One is done and the other John is currently working on.

Supplies:
Fine Sand Paper
Spray Paint + Primer
Replacement parts (if necessary)
Wood Glue (if repairs are necessary)

This little sweetie is the one John is currently working on.

It was originally painted black but as you can see

 it is pretty faded and weathered 

The leg on this one is broken at the bottom and he is replacing it

 with a comparable and close matching leg that 

can be found at Lowes/Home Depot.

Start sanding!!

He did not take the chair apart!

He did not sand all of the black paint off!!!

Why?

He wants it to show as wood grain when painted, 

so leaving the black in areas helped the wood to look 

natural even though we did not paint the chair a natural color. 

Sand to smooth!

This is the paint and color he used! 

It is worth the money.

Note: We are planning on buying bright, candy apple red cushions for the seats of the chairs!
