My oldest is turning 15 today, and I can hardly comprehend it! Of course it makes mathematical sense, but the realty of it seems very far fetched. How could our little tiny baby be all grown up. When John and I first brought Noah home, we were filled with a perplexed wonder --trying to figure out how this 7.4lbs 19 1/4in baby would grow to be as big as we were! Just crazy! How would his tiny hand grow to the size of an adults hand, when it was so very little; delicate? He didn't have a bunch of extra skin like a puppy! lol!
We sat for hours churning this thought! Then John and I met Christ and began to understand the mysteries and greatness of who He is and how He created us! Our thoughts soon shifted from how to WOW! God has intimately detailed every second of our lives, knitting us magically and lovingly together. We are fearfully and wonderfully made, is a very revealing verse in the bible. Why? Because when John and I sat there and wondered how this tiny baby would grow, we would sometimes be filled with fear! He didn't have enough skin!! His bones were so small! How could they ever grow big enough to sustain the weight of an adult! However, we were filled with the wonder of it all; caught up in the miraculous mystery of growth.
So we sit here in awe that our once tiny human is now 6 foot, weighs 122lbs, and wears a size 13 shoe! What a fabulous gift it is to be a parent! What a honor it is to watch one of God's most precious miracles unfold before our eyes everyday! Ruptured by the unfathomable power of His creation and great love! John and I sit speechless before the feet of God, that he would trust us enough to have such a precious, wonderful, beautifully, made gift!
We love you Noah, our first miracle! May your day be filled with love and I pray that the joy and favor of the Lord will cover you every second of your life!
